Samsung’s most recent Unpacked event held in San Francisco unveiled the Galaxy S20 flagship series, the Galaxy Z Flip, and the latest pair of wireless earphones, the Galaxy Buds+. In the most awaited tech reveal of the year, Samsung certainly hit this one right out of the park, proving to the world why the tech giant is a stellar force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

Let us take an up-close and personal look at the latest in Samsung’s flagship series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
The official rival of Motorola Razr is finally here. With its launch date set for the 14th of February, the Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung’s veritable answer to stunning design innovation challenges in a cutthroat competitive market. The first question that comes to your mind would be, how many times can I fold and unfold? Well, Samsung has an answer for you – nearly 200,000 times! It is, for now, Samsung’s most durable screen used in a folding model. The phone may look small and easy to accommodate with the folding design, but don’t let the looks deceive you, as the main display is a massive 6.7” FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display. Quite a handful, isn’t it? But that is how amazing the screen design is with the Z Flip. When folded, you can see all notifications on a compact 1.1” Super AMOLED front display.

Here are the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip:

  • Core features
Samsung does go all out with a massive 64-bit Octa-Core processor clocking in at an amazing 2.95GHz. The performance specs match what you would get with a budget laptop these days. Now that is truly mind-boggling. A massive 8GB RAM compliments this powerhouse of a processor to ensure the smooth running of high-end applications and games. With 256GB of inbuilt storage, it’s going to take a lot of time before you eventually run out of place to store all your files.
  • Camera
You get a 10MP selfie camera and 12MP dual-lens camera (wide-angle and ultra-wide angle). It is not a standout feature of the phone but does well in terms of performance.
  • Battery life
With the Galaxy Z Flip, you get dual fast-charging batteries with a combined capacity of 3,300 mAh, also compatible with Samsung’s Wireless PowerShare technology.

Samsung Galaxy S20
It is official, Samsung decided to name its new flagship phone series to compliment the new year. The S20 is a stunning combination of AI and 5G technology, and this year, you get three new variants with the Galaxy S20 (standard), S20+, and S20 Ultra. They all get bigger and better when you compare the tech specs. The S20 series is all set to launch on 6th March, after gaining some momentum with the Galaxy Z Flip that is launching earlier.

Here are some of the key features of this uber-cool phone:

  • Display
The S20 base variant boasts a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display while the S20+ and the S20 Ultra come in the same version but with 6.7-inch and 6.9-inch screens respectively.
  • Performance
All three variants of the S20 feature a 64-bit Octa-Core Processor with a massive clock speed of 2.8 GHz. To back this up, the 5G S20 base variant and S20+ boasts a massive 12GB DDR5 RAM. Only the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G/LTE variant boasts both a 16GB and 12GB RAM capacity. The 5G variants come in different internal storage capacities ranging from 128GB and 512GB.
  • Camera
One of the main highlights of the new S20 series is the amazing camera. Both the standard and the + variants have a primary 64MP camera with additional wide, ultra-wide, and Super Speed lenses. The S20 Ultra is, however, a goliath when it comes to megapixels, all 108 worth of it. That’s right, the primary back camera is a whopping 108MP multi-lens monster designed to capture the most stunning photographs. Even the front camera of the S20 Ultra is a majestic 40MP selfie expert. Samsung has redefined photography with its innovative and futuristic Quad Camera design in the S20 series.
  • Battery
The S20 is powered by a 4000 mAh battery while the S20+ and S20 Ultra run on a 4500 mAh and 5000 mAh battery respectively. Note that all batteries feature an improved Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 supported by Samsung’s PowerShare technology.

Galaxy Buds+
A good smartphone feels incomplete without a good pair of wireless earphones. As expected, the Galaxy Buds+ made their first appearance in the Unpacked event, featuring the best of sound by AKG. The wireless earphones feature built-in two-way speakers and three microphones for stunning sound quality. It has an amazing battery with 11 hours of music playback and 15 hours of talk time on one full charge and is now compatible with iOS. This opens Samsung’s earphone market to a whole new segment of Apple users. A notable mention is Samsung’s partnership with Spotify for the new Galaxy Buds+ that now lets you stream all your favorite music on the go. The Galaxy Buds+ will be launching alongside the new Galaxy Z Flip on the 14th of February.

There were rumors about Samsung introducing a new smartwatch and a smart home assistant. However, the Unpacked event unveiled only these amazing devices that are definitely going to awe smartphone users worldwide.
